Great Wall Trek

I so appreciated to spend those days close to the Wall and not just to “fly in” for one day. This enables me to get a bit of a “feel” for the country. To be with the Chinese crew also was a privilege I won’t forget. Our tour guide gave us valuable insights. I am thankful that I could be part of this challenge, it was worth it.

Beijing to Hong Kong

This is essential China at its finest! Commencing in Beijing, we marvel at the city's most renowned landmarks of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City before exploring one of the great wonders of the world - The Great Wall. Travelling south, we explore the New York of Asia - Shanghai, set on the picturesque Bund where modern architecture co-exists with impressive colonial architecture. In Central China we arrive at Xian, to the spectacle of the famous Terracotta Warriors before wandering the exotic Muslim quarter with its sesame oil factories, hidden mosque and delicious handmade noodle stalls. For a change of pace we journey to rural Yangshuo, and immerse ourselves in its sublime landscape of limestone peaks that have inspired poets and painters for centuries. An overnight train brings us to the conclusion of our journey in the vibrant, fast paced metropolis of Hong Kong; the perfect end to a fascinating trip.
