Ancient Cultures and Fine Food - the Very Best of Peru with Andreas Holland

This is truly a unique opportunity to see the very best of Peru accompanied by Peru connoisseur - Andreas Holland. Based on over 30 years experience of designing and leading trips in Peru, Andreas has handcrafted this very special itinerary to include time in the great deserts of its coast, the high hidden valleys and mountains of the sierra and the vastness of its rainforest. We celebrate the incredible cultural history of this country with visits to the great pyramids and tombs of Túcume and Sipan to the fabulous site at El Brujo and to Chan Chan - the largest ancient mud city in the world. We head up into the mountains to the beautiful 'white city' of Arequipa and on to Cusco, the glorious Sacred Valley and the fabled site at Machu Picchu. This great adventure ends in the green mansions of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest which boasts the greatest diversity of flora and fauna on earth! Dotted throughout this itinerary are eating experiences in some of Andreas' favourite restaurants (including Astrid and Gaston, voted one the 50 best restaurants in the world) and combined with our wonderful atmospheric hotels, this is sure to be a journey to remember.

traveller reviews

Andreas was an excellent tour leader. Having attended one of his South America presentations in Sydney, I was impressed by his knowledge, enthusiasm and genuine affection for Peru and its people. After that, the ‘Ancient Cultures and Fine Food – The Very Best of Peru with Andreas Holland’ was the only tour I wanted to do. And I wasn’t disappointed! The holiday was definitely good value when you consider the excellent hotels and some of the best restaurants in Peru as inclusions.
