Larapinta Trek

We had a wonderful time on our recent 8 day Larapinta Trek. The trip was made all the more enjoyable by the assistance of our guides Adrian and Craig. Their flexibility, steady temperaments, knowledge, friendship, experience, sense of humor and ability in the kitchen took all the difficulties out of our experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything that should have happened happened, and happened when it should have. They made the whole experience for us a simple walk in the bush. We could not reccommend them more highly.

New Trip Series with Atlas Obscura

15/06/2017

Flamingo and the Saltflat

World Expeditions and Atlas Obscura’s shared mission of constant curiosity, discovery, and exploration make this partnership a natural fit. Our new series of carefully curated and one-of-a-kind itineraries are meant to inspire people to explore the most awe-inspiring parts of our world.

The new adventures will kick off in December 2017 with Space Out in Chile’s Atacama Desert. A rare opportunity to visit the driest places on Earth, this trip will explore the deserts, mountain geysers, and geoglyphs of San Pedro de Atacama.

Departing 08 December 2017, additional highlights of the inaugural seven-day trip include:

  • Excellent archaeology of fortress remains and the ruins of a village dating to 300 BC.
  • Altiplanic lagoons home to unique flora and fauna located at 13,500 feet above sea level.
  • Alien investigations in abandoned La Noria with Oscar Muñoz, the man who discovered the ‘Ata’ skeleton.
  • Dinner under the stars in one of the best places to view the night sky.
