Costa Rica Traverse

The trip was wonderful, thanks! The local operator, Coast to Coast, were very well organised and especially Danny, the lead guide, was the best guide I have ever seen in action. It was a privilege to be guided by such a well-rounded and versatile person - from navigating and motivating the group, to cooking (delicious food) and patching up blisters. And always with a smile on his face.

I am already planning my next trip with World Expeditions - rafting on the Franklin River in Tasmania.

Crema Central American Coffee Journey

This superb itinerary has been designed specifically for the exclusive Crema Magazine. Full of opportunities to witness the entire coffee process and be involved with local growers, exporters and roasters this trip will have something for everyone - from the coffee enthusiasts to the experts. Like fine wine, coffee has become, and is continuing to develop as, a truly 'connoisseurable' passion with devotees and 'prosumers' coming from all walks of life. Beginning the journey in Guatemala you will enjoy visiting the well known coffee growing areas around Antigua and Atitlan with the opportunity to include the local highlights and culture as well as seeing first hand what makes Guatemalan coffee so distinctive. There will never be a dull moment on this exceptional adventure as we head into the jungle clad ruins of Tikal to the World Heritage listed UNESCO city of Antigua and the beautiful Lake Atitlan. Costa Rica is a country of stunning mountains, active volcanoes and fantastic coffee. The coffee produced in the highlands around San Jose is world renowned and you will be combining coffee plantation tours with tours to some local sights such as the Irazu volcano and the chance to relax in the hot springs. As we cross into Panama we will visit the town of Boquete which in 2005 was rated as one of the top 5 places to retire by Fortune Magazine. This beautiful area is teeming with specialty coffee growers and you will be delighted with the visits to the plantations as well as with the natural scenery. Panama city is our final destination and a visit to the famous Panama canals is essential. We say goodbye over an espresso, a suitable conclusion to this incredible journey.
