Kokoda Track

From beginning to end, this expedition was perfection in all aspects of its organisation. Particular praise must be given to the trek leader Mr Lawrence Applebee. His dedication, knowledge and leadership abilities were instrumental in its success.

Colombia

Take an adventure holiday in Colombia with World Expeditions, one of the world’s leading travel companies.

Colombia will surprise you! Off the tourist radar for so long, Colombia is now enjoying a surge in tourism as travellers discover the hidden delights of this equatorial country where sunshine is a constant, where fertile soils grow an abundance of tropical fruit, vegetables, coffee and chocolate and along the coast an abundance of fish and plantain. The diversity of landscapes will astound you; modern cities, lush Amazon jungles, picturesque Caribbean beaches and colonial townships. And with this diversity of landscapes comes an array of activities for the traveler to enjoy; mountain trekking, coastal walks, coffee plantation walks, scuba-diving, city tours, archaeological ruin walks, beach lazing, surfing and boating, architecture appreciation and the list goes on. The Colombian people are warm and friendly and because of the split geography of Colombia – mountains and coast – the culture is also varied. The people from the mountains are hardworking and industrious, not dissimilar to other Andean nations. The coastal culture is laid back and slow, not dissimilar to the culture of Venezuela and Cuba. The common theme throughout the Colombian lifestyle is strong family ties and music, with many unique and infectious rhythms being generated from a fusion of Afro Caribbean and Spanish influences.
