Everest Base Camp

I just wanted to extend my thanks to World Expeditions for arranging an absolutely amazing trip to Nepal. This is the first organised trek I have participated in (I normally go with friends or alone) and I was not disappointed. Everything went like clockwork and it did not have that "packaged tour" feeling that I was dreading. The other trekkers were great, all interesting like minded people. The guides were fantastic, lead by Prasant Basnet who really knew his stuff and was very easy to get along with. It was an awesome experience that I am recommending to everyone.

Corsica

Self-Guided Holidays and Small Group Adventures Europe:  Corsica

Corsica is in the Tyrrhenian Sea in the western Mediterranean, 160 kilometres south-west of the French Riviera and 82kms west of the coast of Tuscany, on the same latitude as Rome.  Often known as the Mountain in the Sea, the highest point is Monte Cintu at 2,710 metres, and there are twenty other mountains of over two thousand metres and an average altitude of 560m. The old mule tracks winding through the inland mountains, coupled with the idyllic coastline, provide an ideal route for a walking holiday of Corsica. With floral diversity (with some 2,980 different plant species), a rich history, charming villages and an ideal climate, it also has the right ingredients for a superb cycling adventure holiday.

Utracks Europe offers a range of guided and self-guided tours to help you cycle, walk and trek your way through Corsica on a small group adventure holiday.

The Weather in Corsica

Corsica experiences the classic Mediterranean climate.  Autumn and Spring coastal temperatures range between 15-20 ºC.  June to September (Summer) the coastal temperatures range from 20-27 ºC, although they can rise as high as the late 30’s.

At higher elevations during the summer months,  the temperatures drop sharply and there may be snow on the highest peaks (generally only to June).
Being a largely mountainous island, the weather can change
rapidly and you should be prepared for some extremes of
temperatures at higher elevations even in summer. The risk of
thunderstorm starts from September onwards. During the rainy
season from October to April, one day in three is generally wet.
