After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel for a morning excursion to Nairobi National Park where we visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Here, orphaned baby African Elephants are hand-reared until they can be safely returned to their natural habitat, many to Tsavo East National Park. Learn about the orphanage's pioneer Daphne Sheldrick before we enjoy lunch at Carnivore restaurant. In the afternoon, a visit to Karen Blixen Museum for an "Out of Africa" experience is well worthwhile. We watch local Masai women making ceramic jewellery at Kazuri Bead Centre followed by an interesting educational foray at the Giraffe Centre. This centre, officially the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya, is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1979 as an educational facility, in conjunction with conservation of the endangered Rothschilde Giraffe. Originally intended as a facility to educate Kenya's youth, the centre now delights adults and children alike from around the world. Today is a full day absorbing past and present legacies of Kenyan culture and wildlife conservation. You will be transferred to the airport in the evening for onward flights. Alternatively, if you have booked another night at a hotel in Nairobi you will be transferred there for overnight.
