This morning we transfer to the charming village of Barichara. Founded in 1705, Barichara is one of the most beautiful villages in the region. Built on a hill, all the houses are in stone. Her beauty inspires many artists and artisans, we will visit the workshops.
We discover the objects made in "fique", cactus, whose artisans use a process that will be explained during the workshop visit. In Barichara, elders hold the know-how and youth are learning, whether basketry, weaving, pottery, stone size or tobacco. Then we begin our easy walk about 2 hours (9km) on el "Camino Real", the native royal road, to join Guane at the bottom of the valley. A hundred inhabitants live in this colonial hamlet renowned for its stone cutters. Return to Barichara in the late afternoon.
